Brilliant vermilion-red tea bowl and lid. From Dehua, the famous center for porcelain in Southern Fujian province. Originally gaiwans were made without saucers. The gold trim on the lid and base gives a note of opulence and contrast to the solid red color. Recommended teas to use: Topaz (pale yellow color), Gyokuro (deep green), Concubine's Smile (intense deep copper). 5 oz.
